Writer's Block: Legends of Rock

There are a few concerts that go down in musical history—Altamont, Woodstock, Live Aid, the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds tour—as legendary experiences. What live show stands as legend in your own experience?

I believe that every single one of the Vans Warped Tour is a memorable experience. You can't just pick one that would be the best out of all them. People have their own special experience and memory from the tour that they'd never forget. I know mine will always be my first Warped Tour, which was also the first time I saw The Academy Is... and the first time I was backstage during one of my favorite band's set.

Warped Tour is a legend.

My favorite subject: new music!!!!

I have some bands I think everyone would be interested in, most of which are lovely Floridian bands!

Poets; Eat Your Heart Out

I love poetry. It expresses all aspects of human life in the simplest of forms: words. The most complex of emotions can be understood through a few stanza's of rhyming or un-rhyming words in iambic pentamiter or in a two or three lined Haiku. Maybe you are also one of those people who love the expression of words and emotions as much as I do. I bet you also enjoy sitting on your computer and enjoying the writings of fellow poets on an online community. You do? I thought as much. I know of an online community that would be perfect for someone just like you.

Yes, I know it does sound great. But there's also something that makes this poetry community even better. What could make it any better, you ask? Well, this poetry community was founded by none other then The Academy Is... frontman, William Beckett. Those of you who, like me, live off of the fantastic writings in his blog will love it (if you don't already know of it). Check it out and post some of you're own writing!

Mondayeyes: Poetry and Prose Club

I really do love me some Paramore. I heard them awhile ago... maybe like, two years ago? I don't know. Anyways..... I never really got into them. I was stuck in the MTV phase of my life and was just barely setting foot into the world of unknown alternative bands. I sat around listening to pop-rock bands or hip-hop and pop (awkward phase guys) and I heard Paramore through one of my friends. I didn't instantly love it; it was good, but I liked my Good Charolette, Ashlee Simpson, Ciara, and The Click 5. I was one messed-up child! Once that phase was over, which ended when I got into high school, I started to listen to them more. I fell in love.

I totally forgot I was supposed to be reviewing them.....

Twilight: The Movie

The Twilight movie.

where to begin?

Bit Me Edward!Collapse )

Bite Me PLEASE!?!?

I gave in to the peer pressure and actually read Twilight. Yeah, yeah. I know. You think I'm horrible, to bad I don't regret reading it. I loooooove it! Stephenie Meyer (if her name is spelled wrong, I am sorry. I'm fighting sleep right now) did a good job for being a first time writer. It isn't written very well, sentence structure wise, but she did a fantastic job of making you feel like you know the characters. Bella Swan is the clumsy, new girl who keeps to herself. Edward Cullen is that bad boy that every good girl wants just because you know he's dangerous, and, in Edwards case, your life is certainly at risk.

it's just so.... addictive.

I am only two books into the Saga so I can't give you a complete review on it, but I do recommend it for girls (or guys) who are into high school romances. I was skeptical over the whole "vampire romance" thing, but it's really interesting and fun to read.

PS; for those of you who have read the books, I have question for you.....

Team Edward or Team Jacob?? Or if you are a guy... Team Bella? Team Rosalie? Alice? uhh... Jessica?

I personally, am Team Edward. Jacob is nice and all, but Edward is freaking, like, HOT DAMN!!!! And Alice is the best by far. Jessica makes me gag.

I'll review the movie also....

Update number one is......

Live Lava Whaaaaat!?Collapse )

It's Been Awhile....

I haven't been on El Jay in a looooooooooong time. Sorry about that! School has been SO crazy and I've only had time to sleep, eat, and study. With SAT's and ACT's coming up, I don't know when I'll be on (not like anyone actually READS this anyways....).

I'm going to post a bunch of stuff right now on somethings I've come across in the past few months that I think everyone should check out. This is going to range form movies, to music, to YouTube, and to other blogs you should check out. I hope you enjoy and are kept occupied so I can focus on school for three months or so.

Peace Signs UP, Middle Fingers DOWN;

Is the Rocket Summer concert in Sunny South Florida. TRS may not be in one of the predominate genre's I listen to, but I like the fact that Bryce Avary writes HAPPY music. I love the 'emo' band scene, but once in awhile you need some happy tunes in your life.

and I'm pretty pumped that they made it down here.
